Poem #30 – Losing You

A love unrequiting, how it’s always been
A life, tearing at the seams
Found strewn along the floor
The remnants of what we were

Pick them up and hold them close
Don’t let go of me, I won’t let go of you
This is our last chance, to hold another
Our last chance, there is no other

There is no telling, what we’ll be
Tomorrow, or the next day

But everything is fine, can’t you see?
For if you look hard enough, it’s only me
